The Consultation Process
When you attend for your first consultation a comprehensive case history will be taken this ensures that any previous or current, episodes of pain, illness, injuries, medications are taken into account. It is important your Osteopath has this information as the treatment techniques need to be tailored to your particular needs. You will then be examined this may or may not require you to undress to your underwear also it depends on what you feel comfortable with. Treatment will commence on your fist visit and your diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed with you. If your condition is not suitable for Osteopathic treatment Please feel free to ask any questions regarding your condition.
You do not need to be referred by a doctor first for treatment if you are paying for your own treatment. However some insurance companies require you to have a doctors referral.
After Treatment
You may feel sore or achey or tired after treatment this is part of the healing process and may be more pronounced afte the first session. However everyone is different and this may vary in severity and duration.
